For our next ‘Facing up’ session we’re lucky to be joined by ex Kent and England Lions off spinner Adam Riley.
Once dubbed ‘the new Graeme Swann’, Adam Riley was a classical offspinner blessed with height, control, and the ability to generate spin on any surface. He took a staggering 57 first class wickets in the 2014 Championship season, his first full season, leading to greater recognition playing with the MCC and England Lions.
But unfortunately something went awry for Adam, leading to his retirement just 5 years later after a prolonged lean spell for Kent.
In this exclusive chat we’ll look at what went wrong for Adam, including the dark side of bowling and how coaching can go bad, the mental battles, and how to deal with that as a human being.
We’re extremely grateful to Adam for offering to discuss these challenging topics, and pass on some extremely useful advice to younger players just making their way in the game.
This is definitely one not to miss, so please do book now. For anyone who can’t make the event live, the recording will be available to all who booked in advance.
